Conversations With God Summary

BookSummaryClub Blog Conversations With God Summary

Have you ever felt you want to talk to God so you can get some answers about life and existence? If you were to talk to God today what would you ask? Donald Walsch did talk to God many years back and asked most of the questions that you might have asked.

He had a conversation with God and wrote the answers down in his book. Therefore, by reading his book Conversations with God, you are also having a conversation with God through him.

But believe it or not, God has always been speaking to his people only that many do not listen. Everything in this universe is his, and he can use anything to speak to you. He says that all the avenues in this universe are open to him to speak to you. “I will speak to you if you will listen.

I will come to you if you invite me. I will show you then that I have always been there.” This Conversations with God summary highlights some of the conversations that Donald Walsch had with God that you might have always wanted to ask.

TALKING WITH GOD

How does God Talk and to whom? – This is one of the things that Walsch asked. The reply he was given was that God doesn’t merely talk with people but instead communicates with them. The most common way of communicating with people is through feelings since feelings are a language of the soul.

God also communicates through thought. You can get thoughts as pictures and images, and therefore thoughts are more effective at communicating than words.

When everything fails, then God communicates through words. However, God cautions that people are more concerned with the word of God that they forget the experience. The experience is what allows you to know what something is about and when you experience God, then you are able to understand his presence.

Your highest thoughts, clearest words and the grandest of feelings are from God. Anything short of that is not from God.

No one is special, and God speaks to everyone. The problem is that many people have chosen to listen to other people whom they think are special and the ones God can speak to.

THE FORM OF GOD

Why can’t you reveal yourself in the form or shape that you actually have? – To this God answered that he doesn’t have a form or shape that Walsch or any other person would understand. If you were to see God in a particular form or shape, you would take that to be the true form of God rather than one of many. He explains that he is the great unseen rather than what people see.

ABOUT PRAYER

Does that mean I cannot ask for anything I want? Are you saying that praying for something actually pushes it away from us? – “You will not have that for which you ask, nor can you have anything you want. This is because your very request is a statement of lack, and you saying you want a thing only works to produce that precise experience— wanting—in your reality.” God wants us to pray in gratitude, not in supplication.

Praying in gratitude means giving thanks in advance for what you choose to experience in reality. Thankfulness to God, therefore, affirms that even before you ask, your prayer is answered.

What if you are grateful in advance and it never shows up? That would lead to disillusionment and anger? – Gratitude in advance is not to be used to manipulate God because it is not possible to manipulate God. What your mind knows God also knows. What you have in your mind becomes your reality, and therefore you have to experience it fully.

But how can I truly be grateful for something that I know is not there? – By having faith in God. Whatever you choose, choose it in the name of God then it shall be there.

Yet so many people say that their prayers have gone unanswered? – No prayer goes unanswered. Prayer is not the statement that you say to God. Instead, it is the thought, the feeling, and statement that is creative and therefore becomes a reality. It, therefore, means that the only driving thought you need to have is the thought that God will grant whatever you ask without fail.

Your will about your life is God’s will for you. This is because God is not a creator of the situations in your life instead he is an observer. He created you in his image and gave you free will, so you have created everything that is in your life. Change your intention for your life, and God’s will also changes.

ABOUT HELL

What is hell? – “It is the experience of the worst possible outcome of your choices, decisions, and creations. It is the natural consequence of any thought which denies Me, or says no to Who You Are in relationship to Me.” Hell is the opposite of joy, unfulfillment, knowing who you are and being unable to experience it, and being less.

God further here states that hell is not that place we fantasize about burning in everlasting fire. God could not have any purpose in that. The unhappy soul you create for yourself here is the hell that you send yourself to.

But if there is no hell, does that mean I can do what I want, act as I wish, commit any act, without fear or retribution? – “I tell you this: You are your own rule-maker. You set the guidelines. And you decide how well you have done; how well you are doing. For you are the one who has decided who and What You Really Are—and Who You Want to Be. And you are the only one who can assess how well you’re doing.”

God states that if he wanted you to act and be perfect, he would have left you in the state of perfection that you came in. The idea, however, was to let you be yourself as you wish and therefore you have to make a choice.

What I Like About The Book

I like that this book is written in a direct Q and A format. The format is easy to understand and the writing though profound is concise and straightforward.
