Kindle Paperwhite and other e-ink readers are often praised for their powerful battery life.
But no matter how powerful the battery is, there is every possibility of it getting low, even when you haven’t used it for a while. This is because Kindle Paperwhite keeps displaying ads on the screen even when it is in sleep mode, which can consume the power in the battery.
To prevent this from happening, you have to turn the e-reader off when you’re not reading.
In this article, I’m going to show you three easy steps on how to turn off your Kindle Paperwhite.
Let’s jump in.
What is Kindle Paperwhite?
Kindle Paperwhite is a thin, lightweight eBook reader that’s about 8mm thick and weighs about 6.4 ounces. It has a flush screen and a bezel with a glass layer, so it can’t trap sand, dirt, or dust. The screen is a sharp E-Ink Carta 300-ppi 6-inch display with in-built light, and the back of the reader has a near-rubbery finish that makes it easier to grip.
The Paperwhite also has its IPX8 water resistance rating, which means that you don’t have to worry when you use it in places that are wet, such as the bathtub, pool, and beach. In fact, Amazon says that the Paperwhite can be immersed in two meters of freshwater for up to an hour without soaking up.
The Paperwhite’s battery lasts a long time. It can last about 28 hours between charges. But the battery life largely depends on how the owner uses it and the measures they take to preserve it.
