Here are the simple steps to exit a book on Kindle:
- While your book is open, look for the ‘X’ button at the top of the screen, the same method is applied while in the settings app. If you opened your settings to reset something and you want to go back to the home screen, just tap the ‘X’ button.
- You can also close a book on Kindle Paperwhite by restarting your device. Your device will not open your book after restarting.
- If a book is opened on your Kindle Paperwhite, you can tap the back arrow. But if you open the book from your Home screen, you will see a back arrow which will direct you to ‘Home’ if you tap it. If you open it from your library, you will see a back arrow, which will direct you to your ‘Library’ if you tap it.
